  • Replace a single tooth (or many single teeth using one implant per tooth) with a ceramic crown secured to the top of the implant to give the appearance and function of a natural tooth.

What’s involved in dental implant therapy?

First, your dentist will perform a thorough evaluation, including X-rays and a soft-tissue analysisto determine if you are suitable for dental implants.

The first stage of therapy involves implant placement. Your dentist will place the implants into the jawbone at the first surgical appointment. This surgical appointment is preformed in the dental office under local anaesthetics. It can also be opted to be done under Sleep Dentistry or General Anaesthetic for enhanced patient comfort.

The implants are allowed to heal for a period of two to six months. After this healing time, we restore the implant(s) with a custom crown, bridge, or denture. The total process tends to take a period of four to seven months.

To receive dental implants, you must be in good overall health and have adequate bone density. In some cases, your dentist can perform pre-operative therapies like bone grafts that will enable you for implants, if you weren’t formerly suitable.
